Ancol Feather Bell Cat Dangler – 109cm
This is a wand dangler: a handle, a length of line and a feather-and-bell lure on the end, 109cm from grip to tip. The point of it is distance — you can work the lure a metre away from your hand, so the cat commits properly to the pounce instead of pulling up short because your fingers are in the way.
The bell gives the cat something to track by ear as well as by eye, which matters once the lure has been dragged out of sight behind a chair leg. Sessions can be short. Five minutes of hard stalking and jumping does more for a cat than half an hour of half-interest.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 109cm overall reach, keeping hands clear of teeth and claws.
- Feathers and a bell on the lure give both visual and audible cues to track.
- Draws out the full hunting sequence — stalk, chase, jump, pounce.
- Real exercise for indoor cats without needing a long run of floor space.
- Play you take part in, which is also how a wary cat learns to trust a person.
Suitable For
- Indoor cats and cats on restricted exercise.
- Households where one-to-one play time is the aim.
- Cats that swipe at hands during play — the length redirects that onto the lure.
- Kittens and adults alike.
- Not a toy to leave out for self-service play, and not a dog toy — the Ancol Playtime Jumbo Rope Tugger suits a dog that wants tug play.
How to Use
- Move the lure away from the cat, along the floor and out of sight, rather than towards it.
- Let the cat catch the lure sometimes; a hunt that never ends in a catch stops being interesting.
- Finish each session with a catch, then put the toy away out of reach.
- Wind the line loosely round the handle for storage so it does not tangle.
Specification
- Overall length 109cm, handle and line combined.
- Feather lure with a bell.
- Ancol product code 913250.
- Supplied in widely recycled packaging.
- Ancol publish no material composition, no separate handle length and no feather type for this toy, so none is stated here.
Care & Caution
- An interactive toy for supervised play only. Never leave it with a cat unattended — line and feathers are a swallowing and strangulation risk.
- Store it in a drawer or cupboard between sessions, not on the floor or hooked over a door handle.
- Ancol state plainly that this toy is not indestructible. Check line, feathers and bell before each session.
- Retire it once feathers start shedding or the bell works loose.
