Ancol Polar Fleece Dog Jumper – Blue, XL (60cm back)

The XL is the largest of Ancol's Snug Fit Polar Fleece jumpers, cut for a 60cm back length and a chest girth of 74–96cm — labrador and larger. It is a jumper rather than a coat: ribbed sleeves and chest, and a hook-and-loop strip down the spine that lets you close it over a big dog without asking it to stand still on three legs.

At this size the fleece earns its keep on lurchers, greyhounds and other thin-skinned large breeds that lose heat fast standing about. There is no waterproof layer, so treat it as insulation for dry cold, or as a base layer under a shell.

Performance & Benefits
  • Soft polyester fleece giving real warmth for very little bulk over a large frame.
  • Stretchy ribbed sleeves and chest keep the jumper in place on a deep chest without gripping.
  • Hook-and-loop closure along the spine — the practical way to dress a tall dog single-handed.
  • Reflective edging along the seams for winter walks in the dark.
  • Washes cool and dries quickly.
<>
Suitable For
  • Dogs measuring 60cm from collar to base of tail, with a chest girth of 74–96cm.
  • Lurchers, greyhounds, whippet crosses and other thin-coated large breeds.
  • Older large dogs that stiffen up in the cold.
  • Wearing under a waterproof shell in hard weather.
  • If your dog measures nearer 50cm along the back, take the Large — XL will hang loose and rub at the shoulders. Ancol make nothing bigger than XL in this style, so a very long-backed giant breed will need a made-to-measure coat.
<>
How to Use
  • Measure the back length from the base of the collar to the base of the tail with the dog standing square, then the chest girth just behind the front legs.
  • Lay the jumper over the back, feed the front legs through the sleeves and close the hook-and-loop strip along the spine.
  • Check the sleeves are not pinching the armpits and that a flat hand slides under the chest.
  • Remove it indoors once the dog has warmed through, and whenever it has become damp.

<>
Care & Caution
  • Hand wash or machine wash in cool water. Air dry naturally; do not tumble dry or dry on a radiator.
  • Fleece soaks up rain and holds it. A wet jumper chills a dog faster than none, so take it off once it is damp.
  • Remove it for crating, travel and unsupervised time — the spine fastening can snag on a long coat or on a crate door.
  • Check the armpits and elbows of a deep-chested dog for rubbing, and stop using it if the coat starts to thin there.
