Ancol Stormguard Dog Coat – Hi-Vis, Small (30cm back)
The Stormguard is Ancol's proper winter coat: a waterproof outer with a fleece lining behind it, so it deals with cold and wet at once rather than one or the other. Small is cut for a 30cm back length, measured from the base of the collar to the base of the tail, and the hi-vis colourway is the one to have if your walks start or finish in the dark.
Everything on it is there for a reason. The chest protector reaches forward under the throat and brisket where the mud lands, elasticated leg straps stop the back end riding up, reflective edging tape follows the seams, and a zipped harness slot lets a lead reach a harness worn underneath instead of pulling on the coat.

Suitable For
- Dogs measuring 30cm from collar to base of tail.

- If your dog measures nearer 35cm along the back, take the S/M, and nearer 25cm the XS. Buy to the measurement, not to the breed — the three smallest Stormguards are only 5cm apart.
How to Use
- Measure the back length from the base of the collar to the base of the tail with the dog standing square, and order to that figure.
- Fasten the neck first, then the belly, then bring the elasticated straps around the hind legs.
- Leave two fingers of slack at the neck and keep the leg straps clear of the groin.
- Unzip the harness slot and pass the lead through to a harness worn underneath.
- Machine wash at 30°C and air dry naturally.

Care & Caution
- Machine wash at 30°C and air dry. Do not tumble dry or dry near a radiator or stove; heat degrades the waterproof coating.
- The zipped slot is for lead access to a harness underneath. Never clip a lead to the coat itself — no part of a coat is load-rated.
- Hi-vis fabric and reflective tape need someone else's light to work. On unlit lanes add an active light such as the Ancol Blinker Orange LED Dog Safety Light.
- Check the elasticated leg straps for rubbing behind the elbows and in the groin, particularly on a short-coated dog.
- Take the coat off indoors. A fleece-lined coat left on a warm dog will overheat it.
