Ease & Excel is Baileys' answer to the horse that needs condition and performance but cannot take starch to get there. There are no cereal flakes in it. The calories come from superfibres — soya bean hulls, beet pulp, alfalfa — and from Baileys' Outshine soya and linseed oil blend, which is why the oil figure reaches 10.5% while starch stays at 8%.

It carries the BETA approval mark as suitable for equines prone to gastric ulcers as part of a balanced diet, and the formulation reflects that: alfalfa and green oat straw chaff to keep the horse chewing, beta-glucans at 0.15g/kg, magnesium carbonate and fructo-oligosaccharide at 3g/kg. Feeding

• Feed to bodyweight, condition and workload, alongside ad-lib forage.
• One level round Stubbs scoop holds 1.25kg.
• Split larger amounts across at least two feeds a day.
• Introduce gradually over seven to ten days — the oil level makes a slow change worthwhile.
• Clean, fresh water at all times.
