Battles Poultry Drink – 250ml
Battles Poultry Drink is a liquid tonic added to the flock's drinking water, which is the traditional way of getting something into every bird at once without catching and dosing them one at a time. Keepers reach for it at the points where birds are visibly off: mid-moult, after a red mite infestation, or when a new bird has arrived and gone quiet in a corner.
This is the 250ml bottle, the smaller of the two sizes. For two or three hens used occasionally it is the sensible size — a large bottle that sits open for a year is not a saving.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Liquid tonic, added to drinking water rather than to feed.
- Doses a whole flock at once, with no handling and no individual dosing.
- Traditionally used through the moult, after mite infestation, and around a change of home.
- 250ml bottle — enough for occasional use with a small flock.
Suitable For
- Chickens, and the other poultry Battles name on the bottle.
- Small back-garden flocks that would not get through a larger bottle.
- Birds coming through a moult or picking their appetite back up.
- Keepers who prefer to supplement through the water rather than the feed.
- A bird that is genuinely ill needs a vet, not a tonic. This supports a bird under strain and nothing more.
Feeding
- Add to clean drinking water at the rate printed on the bottle.
- Battles' website has been unreachable throughout this review, so no dilution rate is reproduced here. Read the label.
- Change treated water daily, and more often in warm weather.
- Offer a plain water drinker alongside if the birds are unfamiliar with the taste.
- Do not mix it with anything else in the same drinker.
Composition & Analysis
- Battles publish no composition or analytical constituents we could access — their website has been unreachable throughout this review — so nothing is stated here beyond what is printed on the pack.
- 250ml bottle. The same tonic is also made in 500ml.
- No egg withdrawal period is published by Battles for this product. Check the label before using it on birds whose eggs you eat.
