Small wipes — Beco give them as 15 x 12cm — cut for the awkward job of cleaning the corner of an eye without poking it. They are aimed at tear staining and the crust that gathers overnight on white-faced and flat-faced dogs.

Fragrance-free by design, with a lotion that is mostly purified water and aloe leaf juice carrying cucumber and chamomile extracts. Beco list the wipes at 24% of the product against 76% lotion, and describe the bamboo-derived rayon cloth as plastic-free.

How to Use

• Fold the wipe over a fingertip and work from the inner corner outwards
• Use a separate wipe for each eye
• Hold the dried crust for a moment to soften it before wiping, rather than pulling
• Reseal the sticker and press the lid closed after each use
• Put used wipes in general waste; Beco say do not flush

Care & Caution

• Beco instruct that these are for use around the eye and not in it — avoid direct contact with the eye itself
• Never rub at a dried crust; soften it first or you will scratch the cornea
• Stop and see a vet if the eye is red, cloudy, held shut or clearly sore

• Keep out of reach of children
