Buddycare Dog Tear Stain Remover – 200ml
Five ingredients: water, glycerin, coco glucoside, phenoxyethanol and sodium hydroxide. That is the whole bottle, and it is the reason this can be used right up against the eye area where a fragranced product could not. Buddycare put it at over 99% naturally derived.
It is worth being clear about what it does. It lifts the rust-coloured crust and discharge off the fur below the eye; it does not stop the tears that cause it. Light-coated breeds such as bichons, Maltese and white poodles show the staining most, which is why they are the ones it sells to.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Five-ingredient formula, over 99% naturally derived, with no fragrance or dye.
- Coco glucoside and glycerin lift dried discharge and crust off the fur.
- Mild enough for daily use on the fur immediately below the eye.
- Cleans away the dirt and crusting that make staining look worse than it is.
- Vegan, cruelty free and pH balanced.
- 200ml bottle; Buddycare also make a 5L.
Suitable For
- Light and white-coated breeds where staining shows clearly.
- Flat-faced breeds whose eyes water onto the muzzle.
- Daily cleaning until visible staining has lifted.
- Use alongside the Buddycare Blueberry Dog Facial Wash where the whole face needs cleaning.
- Not a cure for the tearing itself — persistent weeping can mean a blocked tear duct, an ingrowing lash or an eye ulcer, and needs a vet.
How to Use
- Shake well before use.
- Wet the stained fur, or apply the liquid to a cotton pad first.
- Rub the stained area gently, working outwards away from the eye.
- Rinse the area with clean warm water afterwards.
- Use daily until the staining has lifted, then as needed.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Care & Caution
- Keep the liquid out of the eye itself. Apply it to the fur, working away from the eye, and rinse afterwards.
- Rinse the eye with clean water on accidental contact and speak to a vet if the eye stays red or the dog keeps rubbing it.
- Persistent tear staining that returns quickly needs investigating — blocked tear ducts, ingrowing lashes, eye ulcers and infections all cause it.
- External use only.
- Keep out of reach of children.
