Canagan Duck Softies – 200g
Softies are soft, pliable meaty treats rather than baked biscuits, which makes them the easiest thing to tear into training-sized pieces one-handed. The duck version runs at 30% duck with chicken at 11%, and carries 4% collagen — the structural protein that skin, coat and nails are actually made of.
The nutritional shape is unusual for a treat: 33% crude protein against only 5% crude fat. Most soft treats do it the other way round, so a handful of these during a training session adds far less to the day's calories than an equivalent weight of most meaty rewards.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 30% duck with 11% chicken, and peas and liquid vegetable starch for the body.
- 4% collagen, for skin, coat and nail condition.
- Crude protein 33% at just 5% crude fat.
- Rosemary at 0.5%, with citric acid and DL-malic acid as the only preservatives.
- Soft enough to tear into small pieces for repetitive training work.
- Grain free, with a short ingredient list of six named items.
Suitable For
- Training and reward work with puppies and adult dogs.
- Older dogs, or dogs with worn or missing teeth, that cannot manage a hard biscuit.
- Dogs on a lower-fat diet, where most soft treats are too rich.
- Dogs whose coats or nails are in poor condition.
- Not a poultry-free treat — chicken is declared at 11%. Canagan Wild Bites Beef & Pork 60g is 96% pork and beef, with no poultry at all.
Feeding
- A complementary food, fed alongside a complete and balanced diet. Canagan publish no daily gram allowance for Softies.
- Take the treats into account in the day's ration rather than feeding them on top of a full meal.
- Tear them down rather than feeding whole, particularly for a small dog.
- Reseal the bag after use and keep fresh drinking water available.
