Canagan Free-Run Turkey Dental Dry Dog Food – 2kg
The dental recipe is built on freshly prepared turkey at 33% with dried chicken at 18.7%, and its point of difference is ProDen PlaqueOff at 2,500 mg/kg. That is a specific seaweed preparation, Ascophyllum nodosum, which acts through the bloodstream and saliva to loosen plaque and tartar rather than by scraping the tooth as a big abrasive kibble does.
Everything else is standard Canagan: grain free, 33% crude protein, 18% crude fat, 394 kcal per 100g, with glucosamine and MSM at 850 mg/kg and chondroitin at 620 mg/kg. Parsley and peppermint are in the botanical list, which is a reasonable nod to breath. There are real restrictions on who should eat it — see Care & Caution below.
<>Performance & Benefits
- ProDen PlaqueOff at 2,500 mg/kg, a seaweed preparation targeted at plaque, tartar and breath.
- 33% freshly prepared free-run turkey with 18.7% dried chicken.
- Crude protein 33%, crude fat 18%, omega 6 3.04% — the highest omega 6 of the Canagan dry dog range.
- 394 kcal per 100g, with glucosamine and MSM at 850 mg/kg and chondroitin sulphate at 620 mg/kg.
- Parsley and peppermint in the botanical blend.
- Grain free, with sweet potato, potato, peas and pea protein.
Suitable For
- Dogs of any breed size that build tartar quickly, or whose breath is the problem.
- Puppies and adults — Canagan formulate it for all life stages.
- Dogs that will not tolerate toothbrushing, as a daily measure that needs no handling.
- Not for pregnant or lactating bitches, or dogs on thyroid medication — Canagan say so explicitly. Canagan Free-Run Chicken is the straightforward alternative.
- It works chemically, not mechanically, so it does not replace scaling where tartar is already established.
Feeding
- Adult maintenance under an hour of exercise: 80g at 5kg bodyweight, 120g at 10kg, 200g at 20kg, 290g at 30kg.
- Active adults over an hour a day: 100g at 5kg, 150g at 10kg, 240g at 20kg, 350g at 30kg.
- Puppies by expected adult weight: toy 1–5kg take 65–90g, small 5–10kg take 145–180g, medium 10–25kg take 215–255g, large 25–45kg take 375–430g.
- Feed it as the whole diet rather than as a topper — the PlaqueOff dose is set against the full daily ration.
- Change over across seven days in the usual Canagan steps.

Care & Caution
- Canagan state that this recipe is not recommended for dogs that are pregnant, lactating, or undergoing thyroid treatment. ProDen PlaqueOff is a seaweed and carries iodine, which is why.
- If your dog is on any thyroid medication, check with your vet before changing to it, and do not feed it alongside a separate iodine or kelp supplement.
- Established tartar will not come off by diet alone. A dog with inflamed gums or loose teeth needs a veterinary dental, and this food is a way of slowing what comes back afterwards.
