Carnilove ACTIVE Beef & Venison Grain-Free Dry Cat Food for Sterilised Adults – 400g
The 400g bag is the one to buy first. Cats are conservative about food, and 400g is roughly a week for a 4.5kg neutered cat at Carnilove's 55g a day — enough to find out whether it will eat beef and venison before you commit to 2kg of it.
The recipe is Carnilove's only sterilised cat food without any poultry: 26% fresh beef, 24% beef protein, 14% venison protein, 38.0% crude protein and 80.0% of that from animal sources. Venison is the novel part, useful where a cat has already worked through chicken and fish.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 400g bag — about a week's food, and a sensible first purchase.
- Free of chicken, turkey and duck.
- 38.0% crude protein, 80.0% of it from animal sources.
- 3,579 kcal/kg at 13.0% fat, formulated for a post-neutering metabolism.
- Venison protein at 14% as the unfamiliar meat.
- Sealed 400g bag stays fresher than the last third of a large one.
Suitable For
- Trying beef and venison on a fussy or sensitive cat for the first time.
- Single-cat households that would not get through 2kg quickly.
- Neutered adult cats of all breeds.
- Taking a few days' food away for a holiday or a cattery stay.
- If your cat settles on it, the 2kg bag of the same recipe works out considerably cheaper per kilo.
Feeding
- Carnilove's daily amounts: 2–3kg 30–45g, 3–5kg 45–65g, 5–7kg 65–80g, 7–9kg 80–90g.
- Weigh the portion on kitchen scales — a neutered cat's whole margin for error is about 10g a day.
- Split it between two or more servings, or leave it in a puzzle feeder to slow the eating down.
- Change over across a week, mixing a rising proportion into the old food.
- Fresh water beside the bowl and, ideally, a second bowl elsewhere in the house.
- If your cat is already overweight, work to a vet's target weight rather than the table.
