Carnilove ACTIVE Lamb & Wild Boar Grain-Free Dry Cat Food for Sterilised Adults – 2kg
At 39.0% crude protein this is the highest-protein dry food Carnilove make for cats, and 80.0% of that protein comes from animals rather than pulses. Lamb supplies most of it — 26% fresh and 26% lamb protein — with wild boar at 4% as the unfamiliar meat.
High protein at a controlled 14.0% fat is exactly what a neutered cat wants: enough amino acids to hold muscle, not enough calories to lay down fat. Phosphorus is the lowest in the range at 0.8% and calcium at 1.0%. The 2kg bag is the regular-feeding size.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 39.0% crude protein, the highest of any Carnilove dry cat food.
- 80.0% of the total protein is animal protein.
- 52% lamb altogether — 26% fresh lamb and 26% lamb protein.
- Wild boar protein at 4%, a meat almost no cat has met.
- 14.0% fat at 3,613 kcal/kg, with 4.5% crude fibre — the most fibre in the sterilised range.
- Calcium 1.0% and phosphorus 0.8%, the lowest figures of the three sterilised recipes.
Suitable For
- Neutered adult cats that need muscle held while weight comes off.
- Cats doing badly on chicken or fish recipes.
- Multi-cat homes wanting one bag that suits them all.
- Contains 8% hydrolysed turkey protein, so it is not poultry-free despite the lamb billing. If poultry is the problem, Carnilove ACTIVE Beef & Venison for Sterilised Cats contains none.
Feeding
- Carnilove's daily amounts: 2–3kg 30–45g, 3–5kg 45–65g, 5–7kg 65–80g, 7–9kg 80–90g.
- Weigh the portion on kitchen scales — a neutered cat's whole margin for error is about 10g a day.
- Split it between two or more servings, or leave it in a puzzle feeder to slow the eating down.
- Change over across a week, mixing a rising proportion into the old food.
- Fresh water beside the bowl and, ideally, a second bowl elsewhere in the house.
- If your cat is already overweight, work to a vet's target weight rather than the table.
