Carr & Day & Martin Belvoir Tack Conditioner Bar – 250g
This is Step 2 of the Belvoir two-step routine: a traditional bar made from vegetable oils, coconut oil and glycerine among them, worked into leather that has already been cleaned with the Belvoir Step 1 Tack Cleaner. It softens, preserves and shines saddlery in one pass.
The glycerine is the working part. It seals the pores of the leather, leaving a barrier against salt, dirt, grease and water — which is what stops sweat drying the hide out between rides. The 250g bar is wrapped in glassine paper and cardboard, with no plastic in the packaging.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Softens, preserves and shines saddlery leather in a single step.
- Glycerine seals the pores of the leather against salt, dirt, grease and water.
- Made from vegetable oils, including coconut oil and glycerine.
- A bar rather than a spray, so you control exactly how much goes onto the leather.
- Wrapped in glassine paper and cardboard — no plastic in the packaging.
- Designed to follow the Belvoir Step 1 Tack Cleaner Spray as Step 2 of the routine.
Suitable For
- Saddles, bridles, girths, stirrup leathers and headcollars in finished leather.
- Everyday tack cleaning where a shine is wanted at the end of it.
- Riders who prefer a traditional bar to a trigger spray or an aerosol.
- Sweat-soaked tack after work, where the salt needs sealing out.
- Not for aniline or untreated leather, suede or nubuck — CDM exclude all four, and the Brecknell Turner Saddle Soap carries exactly the same exclusion.
How to Use
- Clean the leather first with Belvoir Step 1 Tack Cleaner and let it dry.
- Apply the bar to the clean leather and gently rub in with a cloth or a barely damp sponge.
- When dry, polish using a soft, dry cloth.
- Test on a hidden area before using it on anything new or unfamiliar.
Specification
- 250g bar. CDM list no other size for the conditioner bar.
- Vegetable oils including coconut oil and glycerine. CDM publish no full ingredient list or percentages, so none is stated here.
- Glassine paper and cardboard wrap, free of plastic.
- SKU 1006509, barcode 5021544000887.
- CDM catalogue this as the Belvoir Tack Conditioner Bar; the store title names it a Belvoir Glycerine Conditioning Soap.
Care & Caution
- Not suitable for aniline or untreated leather, suede or nubuck.
- Test on a hidden area before first use.
- Do not soak the leather or the bar — work with a barely damp sponge, not a wet one.
- Conditioning is not a substitute for inspection. A billet strap, girth strap or stirrup leather that has gone soft and stretched should be replaced, not fed further.
