Carr & Day & Martin Belvoir Tack Conditioner – 500ml Aluminium Bottle
Belvoir Tack Conditioner is Step 2 of Carr & Day & Martin's two-stage tack routine, made to the original recipe around glycerine and coconut oil. The glycerine fills and seals the pores in the leather, forming a barrier against salt, dirt, grease and water, and it dries to a shine rather than the greasy film a heavy dressing leaves behind.
This is the 500ml aluminium-bottle presentation. The conditioner itself is pure and clear, so it feeds finished leather without darkening it — useful on a saddle you want to keep the colour it left the factory in. Carr & Day & Martin describe it as hypoallergenic, which is worth knowing if you clean a lot of tack by hand.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Made to the original Belvoir recipe, with glycerine and coconut oil.
- Softens, preserves and shines saddlery leather in a single pass.
- Glycerine fills and seals the pores of the leather to form a barrier against salt, dirt, grease and water.
- Pure and clear, so it conditions without staining or darkening the hide.
- Dries to a non-greasy finish that takes a good shine under a soft cloth.
- Hypoallergenic, so it suits people who react to stronger tack products.
Suitable For
- Saddles, bridles, girths, stirrup leathers and harness in finished leather.
- Routine conditioning after every clean rather than occasional heavy treatment.
- Anyone already using Belvoir Step 1 Tack Cleaner and wanting the matching Step 2.
- Riders who want fed tack that still looks its original colour.
- Not for aniline or untreated leather, suede or nubuck — and for leather that has gone genuinely dry, cracked and brittle, Carrs Leather Oil is the heavier treatment we stock.
How to Use
- Clean the leather first with Belvoir Step 1 Tack Cleaner.
- Spray evenly onto the clean leather.
- Rub in gently with a cloth or sponge.
- When dry, polish with a soft dry cloth.
- Test on a hidden area before the first use on any piece of tack.
Specification
- 500ml, supplied in an aluminium bottle.
- Clear liquid conditioner based on glycerine and coconut oil.
- Step 2 of the two-step Belvoir routine; Step 1 is the Belvoir Tack Cleaner.
- Carr & Day & Martin list the Step 2 Tack Conditioner Spray in 500ml and 5 litre, and publish no separate aluminium-bottle listing, so those are the sizes they state.
- Carr & Day & Martin publish no full ingredient breakdown for this conditioner, so none is given here.
Care & Caution
- Not suitable for aniline or untreated leather, suede or nubuck.
- Always test on a hidden area first — the result is immediate and cannot be undone.
- Condition the surface; do not soak the leather. Saturated leather dries hard and loses strength, which matters on billets and stirrup leathers.
