Carr & Day & Martin Cornucrescine Daily Hoof Balm – Clear, 500ml

The clear Cornucrescine balm exists for the hooves the black one would ruin: light horn, striped horn, part-white feet, and anything with white feather hanging over them. It conditions and shines without adding colour, so a striped hoof still looks like a striped hoof and a feathered leg does not come out of the stable with black stripes down it.

Underneath the pigment question the formulation is the same idea — tea tree oil, linseed oil, grape (grapeseed) oil and beeswax, pressed into a solid, non-spill 500ml tin. Carr & Day & Martin recommend daily application to clean, dry hooves and say six to eight weeks of consistent use is where you start to see the difference.

Performance & Benefits
  • Clear formulation that will not stain light or striped hooves, or white feather.
  • Gives a natural, glossy finish rather than an artificial colour.
  • Linseed oil supports elasticity and conditioning in the hoof horn.
  • Grape (grapeseed) oil provides lightweight hydration and shine without greasiness.
  • Tea tree oil is included for hoof hygiene through wet and muddy spells.
  • Beeswax forms a breathable barrier that keeps moisture in and mud out.
  • Solid balm in a 500ml recyclable tin — drip-free and easy to use one-handed.
<>
Suitable For
  • Light, striped or part-white hooves.
  • Feathered breeds, where a black dressing would mark the white leg hair.
  • Daily hoof conditioning through wet and dry spells alike.
  • Showing, where a natural finish is preferred to a pigmented one.
  • If you want a solid black show finish on dark hooves instead, the Carr Day & Martin Cornucrescine Daily Hoof Balm Black 500ml is the same balm with pigment.
<>
How to Use
  • Pick out and brush the hoof clean, and let it dry before applying.
  • Apply with a brush or sponge to the hoof wall, sole and frog.
  • Massage gently to aid absorption.
  • Use daily; Carr & Day & Martin put visible results at six to eight weeks of consistent use.
  • Replace the lid after use to stop the surface drying.

Care & Caution
  • A conditioning and cosmetic dressing, not a veterinary treatment. Cracking that keeps returning, thrush, or any lameness is a matter for the farrier or the vet.
