Catsan Hygiene Plus Non-Clumping Cat Litter – 5 Litres
Catsan Hygiene Plus is a non-clumping mineral litter made from quartz and limestone, with nothing artificial added. Each granule is full of micro-pores that draw liquid in like a sponge and hold it, so the surface of the tray stays dry instead of turning to paste.
The granules are treated with a mineral salt solution for odour control, and Catsan claim over 97% ammonia reduction. Because it is coarse-grained and does not clump, Catsan recommend it for kittens under twelve months, which is the main reason to choose it over a clumping litter. This is the 5 litre bag.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 100% natural mineral granules of quartz and limestone, with no artificial additives.
- Micro-porous granules absorb liquid fast and lock it in before odour develops.
- Mineral salt treatment gives over 97% ammonia reduction, Catsan’s own figure.
- Non-clumping, so the tray is topped up rather than dug over every day.
- Unscented — the odour control comes from the mineral, not from perfume.
Suitable For
- Cats of any age, and specifically kittens under twelve months.
- Owners who prefer a mineral litter to wood, paper or clay clumping types.
- Single-cat households and second trays.
- A 5 litre bag is a small quantity for more than one cat — the Catsan Hygiene Cat Litter 20L we stock is the sensible size for a multi-cat home.
How to Use
- Fill the tray to a depth of at least 5cm.
- Remove solid waste daily; liquid is absorbed into the granules.
- Top up or refill once the granules stop absorbing properly.
- Dispose of used litter in household waste. Catsan advise against flushing it.
Specification
- 5 litre bag. Catsan also make Hygiene Plus in 10 litre and 20 litre.
- Composition: quartz sand and limestone, treated with a mineral salt solution.
- Non-clumping. No added fragrance.
- Older listings claim this litter controls odour three times better than conventional litters; Catsan no longer publish that comparison and the 97% ammonia figure above is their current one.
- Catsan publish no dust percentage, so none is quoted here.
