Original is the flaked mix in the Chudleys range, and the one to reach for when a dog turns its nose up at plain kibble. Flaked whole grain wheat and flaked whole grain maize give it the open, muesli-like texture, with poultry meal at a minimum 14%, lamb meal and turkey meal behind them. The analysis sits at 20% protein and 11.5% oil.

Chudleys aim it at dogs on a lower workload, during rest periods, or those that hold weight easily — and say plainly that it is meant for the fussiest of dogs. It carries the same QLC antioxidant package and mannan oligosaccharide prebiotic as the rest of the range, with alfalfa, wheatfeed and unmolassed beet pulp adding bulk fibre.

Feeding

• Small dogs, 5–10kg: 105–175g a day.
• Medium dogs, 10–25kg: 175–350g a day.
• Large dogs, 25–45kg: 350–550g a day.
• Very large dogs over 45kg: 550g and upwards.
• Feed as two meals a day and adjust to condition. Fresh water always available.
• Change over gradually across about a week to avoid loose stools.
