Chudleys Salmon with Rice & Vegetables – 14kg

This is the fish recipe in the Chudleys hypoallergenic pair, and the one to try when a dog has already reacted to poultry or lamb. Salmon is declared at a minimum 26%, second only to whole grain maize, and the diet is formulated without wheat gluten, soya or egg. Protein is 22% and oil 12%, which puts it squarely at working dogs on a moderate workload rather than at a resting pet.

It is the only Chudleys diet that publishes its joint additions as numbers: green lipped mussel at 400mg/kg and glucosamine at 350mg/kg, backed by salmon oil for omega 3. Rice at a minimum 4% and a minimum 4% total vegetables from alfalfa and peas fill out the rest, with the usual Chudleys herbal tail of dandelion, nettle, celery seed and burdock root.

Suitable For

  • Dogs that have reacted to chicken, lamb or other meat proteins.

  • Dogs with dull coats or itchy skin on their current food.
  • Not for a dog with a fish intolerance — Chudleys Lamb Sensitive is the same hypoallergenic specification on lamb.

Feeding
  • Small dogs, 5–10kg: 100–165g a day.
  • Medium dogs, 10–25kg: 165–330g a day.
  • Large dogs, 25–45kg: 330–515g a day.
  • Very large dogs over 45kg: 515g and upwards.
  • Split across two meals and adjust to condition. Fresh water at all times.
  • Take a week or more over the changeover if the dog is being moved because of a food reaction.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: whole grain maize, salmon (min 26%), prairie meal, whole grain barley, chicken fat, rice (min 4%), unmolassed beet pulp, minerals, alfalfa, peas (min 4% total vegetables), yeast (source of mannan oligosaccharides), salmon oil, dandelion leaves, green lipped mussel (400mg/kg), celery seed, nettle leaves, glucosamine (350mg/kg), burdock root, devil's claw root, blackcurrant, rosemary, pomegranate, rosehips, yucca schidigera, beetroot.
  • Analytical constituents: protein 22.0%, oil 12%, crude fibres 3%, crude ash 5.75%.
  • Chicken fat is in the composition. It is a rendered fat rather than a chicken protein, but worth knowing if you are excluding poultry entirely.
  • Chudleys publish no moisture figure and no vitamin or trace element declaration for this diet, so none is given here.
  • 14kg bag. Chudleys also make it in a 2.5kg bucket.
<>
Care & Caution
  • This diet contains devil's claw root, which is not advised for pregnant bitches or for dogs with gastric or duodenal ulceration.
  • Check with your vet before feeding it alongside anti-inflammatory or pain medication.
  • If you are using it as an exclusion diet to identify a food reaction, feed nothing else at all — no treats, no table scraps — or the trial tells you nothing.
