Halti Comfort Collar – Black, Large

The Comfort Collar is Company of Animals’ everyday collar under the Halti name, and the padding is the point of it. A plain webbing collar presses a narrow edge into the same strip of neck all day; this one carries a layer of super-soft neoprene behind the webbing, which spreads that pressure and stops the edge wearing a line through the coat.

It fastens with a three-point button release clip rather than a pin buckle, so it comes on and off in one hand and cannot slip a hole looser, and the stitching is 3M Scotchlite reflective, which picks up headlights on a dark lane. A strong ring takes the lead and the identity tag. This is the Large, in black.

How to Use

• Measure around the base of the neck, then set the collar so two fingers slide comfortably between webbing and coat.
• Press the three points of the clip together to release; push home until it clicks to fasten.
• Re-check the adjustment every few weeks, and weekly on a growing dog — a collar left set for a smaller neck will tighten as the dog fills out.
• Clip the lead and the identity tag to the ring, not to the adjuster slide.
• Sponge clean and let it dry fully; neoprene holds damp longer than bare webbing.

Care & Caution

• A flat collar can catch on a crate bar, a fence wire or another dog’s jaw. Take it off when your dog is crated or left unsupervised.
• Check the clip and the ring for cracks or wear before each walk and replace the collar if either has gone.
• On a puppy, an unchecked collar embeds — loosen it as the neck grows rather than waiting for it to look tight.
