A vitamin and mineral top-up written for the veteran horse rather than adapted from a general one. The base of grass meal and micronised linseed carries the usual core vitamins and minerals, but what distinguishes it is methylsulphonylmethane at 10% of the mix — a genuinely useful inclusion rate for joint comfort rather than a token dusting.

Around that sit liquorice at 4%, echinacea, dandelion and rosehips at 1% each, chosen for the things that tend to go first in an older horse: immune resilience, general condition and cell renewal. Starch is held to 1.3%, so it can go into the bucket of a veteran that also has a metabolic problem without adding to it.

Feeding

• Feed 15g per 100kg bodyweight per day.
• A 200–400kg pony: roughly 0.4 to 0.8 of a scoop. A 400–600kg horse: roughly 0.8 to 1.3 scoops.
• The enclosed 100ml scoop holds approximately 70g.
• Where a compound feed is fed below its recommended rate, adjust this accordingly.
