Agrifence Easyrope 6 Paddock Rope – 6mm, 200m

Easyrope 6 is Agrifence's 6mm electric fence rope, supplied on a 200m reel. It is built as poly rope with stainless steel conductive wires running through it, which puts it a clear step above flat polytape or thin polywire for temporary paddock work — the extra diameter is the part a horse actually sees.

Agrifence publish the diameter, the length, the construction and the product code, and very little else. They do not publish a conductor count, a resistance per metre, a breaking strain or a maximum recommended fence length, so no such figures are quoted here. Claims of a 1,000m maximum run appear on some listings, including this one previously; they are not Agrifence's published figure.

Performance & Benefits
  • 6mm diameter, considerably more visible to a horse than polywire.
  • Strong poly rope construction with high-quality stainless steel wires throughout.
  • Weather resistant, for fence lines left up through a season.
  • Round section rather than flat tape, so it takes less wind load on a long run.
  • Supplied on a 200m reel, enough for a substantial internal division.
<>
Suitable For
  • Dividing grazing and strip-grazing.
  • Temporary and semi-permanent internal fence lines.
  • Arena and paddock surrounds put up and taken down through the season.
  • Horses and ponies, on a correctly rated and properly earthed energiser.
  • Not a stock-proof permanent perimeter — a boundary fence needs post-and-rail or proper stock fencing, with electric used only as a deterrent on top.
<>
How to Use
  • Run the rope through insulators or on rope-specific posts; never let it bear directly on wood or metal.
  • Avoid tying knots in the live line. Conductivity drops at every knot, so join with a proper rope connector.
  • Tension by hand — enough to hold a straight line, not enough to stretch the rope.
  • Connect to the energiser with purpose-made rope connectors rather than twisted wire.
  • Re-spool it dry at the end of the season.
<>
Specification
  • 6mm diameter, 200m reel.
  • Poly rope with stainless steel conductive wires running throughout.
  • Agrifence product code H4605, listed by Agrifence in white.
  • Agrifence also list Easyrope 6 on a 200m reel in green.
  • Agrifence publish no conductor count, resistance per metre, breaking strain or maximum fence length for this rope, so none is stated here.
<>
Care & Caution
  • Electric fencing carries a shock. Switch the energiser off before working on the line.
  • Use an energiser rated for the length of fence and earth it properly.
  • Do not leave loose or trailing ends where a horse can become entangled.
  • Check the line after storms — rope down in wet grass will short out and leave the whole fence dead.
