A small haynet at 80cm long with a fine 5cm mesh, holding roughly 5kg of hay. The mesh size is the working part of it: at 5cm a horse has to pull the hay through in small mouthfuls rather than tearing out great wads, which stretches a net out over hours instead of minutes.

That matters most for a pony on a restricted ration, where the aim is to make a small amount of hay last rather than to feed more of it. The lime colour is easy to pick out in a dim stable or a full trailer, and a strong hanging rope is fitted.

Care & Caution
