Bite-sized extruded treats at 4% sugar and free from molasses, which is a genuinely unusual combination — most horse treats are held together with molasses and sit far higher. The flavour comes instead from dried beetroot, turmeric, carrot, banana and parsnip powders, with maize and wheat extruded to give the crunch.

The 2.25kg pack is the everyday size, working out at somewhere over a month for a 500kg horse fed at the suggested rate. Horses tend to develop a preference between the flavours in the bag, which is part of the appeal — and being molasses free means they can go to a pony that has to stay off sugar.

Feeding

• Feed as a treat, dividing the daily amount into two or more servings.
• Around 20 Crunchits a day for a 250kg pony, 40 a day for a 500kg horse.
• Always ensure plenty of clean, fresh water is available.
• Store in a cool, dry place and reseal the bag after use.
