Equilibrium Simply Irresistible Virtuous Vegetable – 1.5kg
Virtuous Vegetable is a dried vegetable feed topping — carrots, beetroot, peas, parsnip and courgette — with a probiotic worked through it. The job it does is simple: it makes a dull bucket feed worth eating, and it hides a wormer or a powder that a horse has decided it dislikes.
Equilibrium build it around a 50g daily serving, which is why a 1.5kg pack is described as thirty days’ worth. It is a treat and a palatability aid rather than a feed in its own right, and the vegetables bring plant antioxidants with them.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Dried carrots, beetroot, peas, parsnip and courgette in one topping.
- Contains a probiotic, which Equilibrium include to support digestive health.
- Turns a small, boring feed into something a fussy horse will finish.
- Useful for disguising wormers, powders and medication.
- Vegetables rather than cereal, so the flavour comes from real plant material.
- Supplied in recyclable packaging.
Suitable For
- Fussy feeders and horses that leave a plain bucket feed.
- Anyone dosing a horse with something it can taste and object to.
- Horses on restricted, low-interest feeds that need a lift.
- Horses and ponies with laminitis, EMS or PPID should not be given it without veterinary advice — Equilibrium make no laminitis claim for it.
- If you want the fruit version instead, the Fabulous Fruits 1.5kg we stock is the same idea built on apples, apricots, dates and sultanas.
Feeding
- Equilibrium work to a daily serving of 50 grams.
- A 1.5kg pack therefore lasts about thirty days.
- Sprinkle over hard feed, chaff or forage, or use it to bury a powder.
- Feed alongside a balanced diet, not as a replacement for any part of it.
- Also made in a 3kg pack.
Composition & Analysis
- Composition as published by Equilibrium: carrots, beetroot, peas, parsnip, courgette, plus a probiotic.
- Equilibrium publish no analytical constituents for this product on their website. Earlier listings here carried no analysis at all; the figures on the pack are the ones to work from.
- Equilibrium say a small sprinkle or handful adds only a few grams of sugar and trace amounts of starch.
- Earlier copy on this page described the product as suitable for horses prone to laminitis. Equilibrium do not make that claim, and it has been removed.
- A fuller ingredient declaration with percentages appears on the pack.
Care & Caution
- Dried vegetables carry sugar. Equilibrium make no laminitis claim for this product, so check with your vet before feeding it to a laminitic, insulin-resistant, EMS or PPID horse.
- It is a topping, not a feed. Stick to the 50g serving rather than free-feeding it.
- Introduce it gradually, as with any change to a horse’s diet.
