Equine America Citronella Summer Horse Spray – 1 Litre

A water-based summer spray built on citronella, eucalyptus and cedarwood oils, with lanolin and aloe vera carried alongside them. It does two jobs at once: the oils are the traditional botanical answer to flies and midges, and the lanolin and aloe leave the coat conditioned rather than dried out, which a solvent-based repellent tends not to.

Being oil-based rather than synthetic, it wants reapplying more often than a permethrin product — realistically after rain, after a wash and once or twice through a hot day. A litre bottle is enough to get a horse comfortably through a season of daily turnout.

How to Use

• Apply liberally and evenly by spray, or by sponge for the face and head.
• Never spray towards the face — use a sponge or cloth there instead.
• Reapply after rain, after washing, and through a hot day as needed.
• Spray in still conditions to avoid drift.
