Green Oat ReadiGrass is dried oat forage: the oat plant cut green, before the grain has developed, and then rapid dried so that only the water leaves. Cutting it that early is what keeps it forage rather than cereal — stalk, leaf and husk instead of starch, which is why Friendship Estates declare its starch as nil.

The result is a green, aromatic forage with three textures in the bag: crunchy stalk, soft leaf and fibrous husk. That variety is the point of feeding it alongside plain dried grass or hay, and it is grown and dried on Friendship Estates’ own fields in Yorkshire.
