Go-Cat Chicken & Duck – 10kg

Go-Cat Chicken & Duck is Purina’s everyday complete dry food for adult cats, and the 10kg sack is the economy end of it — the same recipe as the 320g box, bought by the quarter-year rather than the week. Chicken is declared at 3% and duck at 1%, both carried in the diamond and drumstick shaped kibbles that give the mix its look.

At 30% protein and 11% fat it sits where a mainstream adult maintenance food sits, with taurine added at 870mg/kg. Dried pea and dried carrot appear at 0.2% each. Purina put an average 4kg cat at 70g a day, so a 10kg sack feeds one such cat for roughly five months.

Performance & Benefits
  • Complete adult dry food — nothing else is needed alongside it apart from water.
  • Protein 30% and fat 11%, a standard adult maintenance balance.
  • Taurine added at 870mg/kg, the amino acid cats must get from their diet.
  • Chicken 3% and duck 1%, declared in the diamond and drumstick shaped kibbles.
  • Vitamin A at 12,500 IU/kg and vitamin D3 at 1,000 IU/kg, with vitamin E at 89mg/kg.
  • 10kg is the largest of five pack sizes, the others being 320g, 750g, 2kg and 4kg.
<>
Suitable For
  • Adult cats of any breed on a straightforward dry diet.
  • Multi-cat households, where a 10kg sack lasts rather than runs out.
  • Free-feeding from a bowl or a gravity feeder, which dry food suits and wet food does not.
  • Owners who want a mainstream, widely available food rather than a specialist one.
  • Not formulated for kittens or for cats over seven — Purina make Go-Cat Kitten and Go-Cat Senior for those.
<>
Feeding
  • A 3kg cat: 50g a day.
  • A 4kg cat: 70g a day.
  • A 5kg cat: 90g a day.
  • Weigh the ration rather than eyeballing a scoop — dry food is easy to over-serve.
  • Fresh water always available, and more of it than a wet-fed cat needs.
  • Change over from another food gradually across a week to avoid a loose stool.
