Red Gorilla Gorilla Tub Extra Large 75L – Red

The Extra Large is the biggest Gorilla Tub Red Gorilla make: 75 litres, 37cm deep and 57.5cm across the top, narrowing to a 43.5cm base. It is wide before it is deep, which is what makes it work as a mixing and shovelling tub rather than a carrying bucket.

In red it is the familiar builder's-trug colour, and it does that job — mixing render, gathering rubble, holding a whole bale's worth of soaked forage. Note the capacity before you buy: filled with water this holds roughly 75kg, so it is a container you work out of, not one you carry about.

Performance & Benefits
  • 75 litres — twice the Large 38L — in a tub 37cm deep and 57.5cm across the top.
  • Wide enough at 57.5cm to take a shovel, a stable fork or a full leaf rake head without catching the rim.
  • The flexible LDPE body absorbs a dropped load and springs back rather than cracking along a mould line.
  • Ribbed walls stop a tub this wide from folding in on itself when it is part loaded.
  • Chamfered rim lets you sweep straight in off a concrete floor and pour cleanly.
  • Two reinforced golf-ball handles set wide for a two-person lift.
<>
Suitable For
  • Mixing cement, render, compost or soaked feed in quantity.
  • Gathering rubble, prunings and site waste where a barrow will not reach.
  • Bathing a dog, or standing a pair of muddy boots in.
  • Soaking several haynets or a large feed for a yard of horses.
  • Too big and too heavy full to use as a carrying bucket — the Gorilla Tub Large 38L is the size to carry, and the Mini Shallow 5L for measuring out.
<>
How to Use
  • Fill to a weight you can move, not to the rim — 75 litres of water weighs about 75kg.
  • Use both handles, and a second pair of hands for anything heavy.
  • For ice, tip the tub over and flex the walls until the block releases.
  • Rinse out with warm water and a mild detergent; stand it upside down to drain.
  • Nest it over a smaller Gorilla Tub for storage rather than leaving it open to the rain.

Specification
  • Capacity 75 litres. Height 37cm, 57.5cm across the top, 43.5cm across the base.
  • Food-grade LDPE (low-density polyethylene). Red Gorilla describe it as horse and pet friendly and suitable for storing and preparing food.
  • BPA free. Red Gorilla state that every Gorilla Tub is BPA free except the black, green and yellow ones.
  • Red Gorilla product code SP75R.
  • Ribbed sides, chamfered rim and two reinforced golf-ball handles.
  • Red Gorilla describe the tub as flexible and weather resistant. They publish no tub weight, no tested load and no frost or UV rating. Figures such as 2.1kg and a 100kg EU-tested handle rating appear on some retail listings, including our own earlier copy; they are not Red Gorilla's and are not repeated here.
<>
Care & Caution
  • Filled with water this tub holds about 75kg. Do not try to lift a full one — bail it down or tip it before moving it.
  • Red Gorilla publish no tested load or working weight for the handles, so treat the 100kg figure that circulates on retail listings as unverified.
  • In hard frost the LDPE stiffens. Flex a frozen tub gently to release the ice rather than striking it while it is cold.
