Graze-On Grass Pellets – 20kg

The same grass as Graze-On Original, pressed into pellets instead of chopped: tall fescues and festuloliums, dried by Northern Crop Driers and pelleted with nothing added. The pellet form is the point — it soaks down into a mash, it goes into a treat ball, and it stores in a fraction of the space.

The declared figures match the chopped version: crude protein 14%, crude fibre 25%, sugar 11%, starch 1.5% and digestible energy of 10–11MJ/kg. Northern Crop Driers supply it in 20kg paper sacks.

Performance & Benefits
  • 100% dried grass pellets, from tall fescues and festuloliums, with nothing added.
  • Soaks down into a soft mash for a veteran or a horse at risk of choke.
  • Northern Crop Driers suggest them in treat balls to relieve boredom.
  • Starch declared at 1.5%, with crude fibre at 25%.
  • Digestible energy 10–11MJ/kg, so it does real nutritional work.
  • A 20kg sack takes far less room than a bale of chopped forage.
<>
Suitable For
  • Veterans and horses with poor teeth, fed soaked.
  • Horses with a history of choke, again fed soaked.
  • Enrichment feeding through treat balls and slow feeders.
  • Yards short of feed room space.
  • Not a low-sugar feed at 11% sugar — assess the whole ration before feeding it to a laminitic pony.
<>
Feeding
  • Introduce gradually over five to seven days.
  • Feed dry, or soak in clean fresh water until it reaches the consistency you want.
  • Northern Crop Driers' guide runs from 0.5kg daily for a small pony in light work to 2.5kg for a large horse in medium or hard work.
  • Soak for veterans, for horses that bolt their feed, and for anything with a history of choke.
  • Fresh, clean water available at all times.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: 100% dried grass, from tall fescues and festuloliums, pelleted.
  • Crude protein 14%. Crude fibre 25%. Sugar 11%. Starch 1.5%.
  • Digestible energy 10–11MJ/kg. Sack weight 20kg.
  • Northern Crop Driers publish no oil or ash figure, so none is stated here.
  • They publish no pellet diameter either. Earlier copy on this page gave 6mm; that figure is not published by the manufacturer and has been removed.
<>
Care & Caution
  • Any pellet fed dry to a horse that bolts its feed is a choke risk. Soak them for a fast eater or a horse with a history of choke.
  • Sugar is declared at 11%. Earlier copy called these a low-sugar forage alternative; Northern Crop Driers make no such claim and it has been removed.
  • Introduce over five to seven days rather than switching in one feed.
