GWF Nutrition Farrier's Aid – 3kg Pouch

Farrier's Aid is GWF's hoof supplement, fed as 2mm pellets at a flat 100g a day. The working end of it is biotin at 400mg per kilo alongside methionine at 30g per kilo and chelated zinc, copper and manganese — the combination that shows up in hoof horn work, rather than biotin on its own.

A 3kg pouch is about a month at the stated rate. GWF's analytical constituents are 19.2% crude protein, 7.6% crude oils and fats, 9.6% crude fibre and 13.9% crude ash, at an energy level of 11.4 DE.

Feeding

• One measure, 100g, daily for all horses and ponies, mixed into the normal feed.
• A 3kg pouch lasts roughly 30 days at that rate.
• Hoof horn grows slowly — allow several months before judging the result.
• Fresh water at all times.

• GWF publish no starch or sugar figure for Farrier's Aid, so none is given here.
• Our previous copy listed rosehip flavouring in the composition. Rosehips are declared in GWF Immune Aid, not in Farrier's Aid.

Care & Caution

• This supplies chelated zinc, copper and manganese daily. GWF warn against feeding their OneCup alongside other mineral supplements, so add up the total trace element intake before stacking supplements on top of a balancer.
