GWF Nutrition Fibregest – 20kg

Fibregest is GWF's conditioning feed, built as a 3mm pellet on soya hulls, micronised beet pulp, linseed expeller and oats. GWF describe it as a high-specification conditioning feed with less than 10% combined sugar and starch, for sustaining horses and ponies at all levels of work; their published figures are 4.2% starch and 5.7% sugar.

It needs no soaking and goes in straight from the bag at 1–2g per kilo of liveweight a day, which is 500g to 1kg for a 500kg horse. The small pellet is what makes it useful for a horse whose teeth are past chewing a coarse mix.

Performance & Benefits
  • Starch 4.2% and sugar 5.7% — under 10% combined, which is GWF's headline claim for it.
  • 13.3% crude protein and 6.2% crude oils and fats for condition without heating.
  • Omega 3 fatty acids at 2.1%, with 2.5% Oatinol in the oil fraction.
  • 3mm pellets, fed dry straight from the bag with no soaking.
  • Sodium bicarbonate and seaweed meal in the mix.
  • Wheat and gluten free, made to UFAS standards.
<>
Suitable For
  • Horses and ponies at any level of work that need condition.
  • Horses with EMS or Cushing's — GWF name both, on the low starch and sugar.
  • Horses with poor dentition that cannot manage a coarse feed.
  • Anyone who wants a conditioning feed that does not need soaking.
  • It contains genetically modified soya bean hulls, so for a soya-free diet Honeychop Topline & Shine is the conditioning option we stock.
<>
Feeding
  • 1–2g per kilo of liveweight per day — 500g to 1kg for a 500kg horse.
  • Split across the day's feeds rather than giving it in one.
  • Feed dry, straight from the bag; no soaking is required.
  • Introduce gradually and adjust to condition and workload.
  • Fresh water at all times.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: soya (bean) hulls produced from genetically modified soya, micronised sugar beet pulp, linseed expeller, oats, alfalfa, cane molasses, dicalcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, vegetable oils and fats including 2.5% Oatinol, calcium sulphate anhydrous, sodium bicarbonate, seaweed meal, flavouring compounds, sodium chloride, propylene glycol.
  • Analytical constituents: crude protein 13.3%, crude oils and fats 6.2%, crude fibre 18.7%, crude ash 12.2%, starch 4.2%, sugar 5.7%, sodium 0.2%, omega 3 fatty acids 2.1%.
  • GWF publish no digestible energy figure for Fibregest, so none is given here.
  • Our previous copy described this feed as 100% non-GM and soya free. GWF declare soya bean hulls containing genetically modified material.
  • GWF also make a separate No Starch Fibregest; this is the standard Fibregest, supplied in 20kg bags, the only pack size they list.
