Twenty-five is the pack size that suits one or two feeders in an ordinary garden: enough to keep a fat ball feeder running through a cold spell without committing to a bulk box that will sit half-used in the shed until spring. At Henry Bell's own figure of 80g a ball, that is roughly 2kg of feed.

The recipe is the same across every Henry Bell fat ball pack — cereals, oils and fats, seeds and minerals — and so is the thing that matters most about them: they are supplied without nets. Henry Bell are explicit that all their fat balls are free from the nets that cause harm when feeding.

Feeding

• Load the balls into a fat ball feeder, or place them on a bird table or feeding tray.

• Keep the pack closed between refills so the remainder stays firm and dry.
• Always provide fresh water for drinking and bathing.

Care & Caution

• Contains nuts and is packed where nuts are present. Not for human consumption.
• Never feed fat balls in plastic netting from any brand — feet and beaks catch in it. Henry Bell's are supplied without nets for that reason.
• Discard any ball that has grown mould or smells rancid rather than putting it out.
• In hot weather fat goes soft and can mat a bird's feathers; put out less at a time and keep the feeder in shade.
