Horslyx Original Mini Lick – 650g
The plain one. A 650g tub of Original Balancer, no flavouring and no targeted extras, which Horslyx put at roughly three days for one horse. If you want to know whether a horse will take to a lick at all, this is the cheapest way to find out.
Original is the reference formulation the rest of the range is built on: 6.5% protein, 6% oil, 23% ash and the full vitamin and trace element package, with chelated copper and zinc alongside the sulphate forms. Everything the Mint, Garlic, Mobility, Respiratory and Pro Digest licks do, they do on top of this.
<>Performance & Benefits
- The base Horslyx Balancer package, without peppermint, garlic, menthol, joint or gut additions.
- Vitamin A 25,000iu, D3 5,000iu, E 1,200mg, B12 220mcg and biotin 12mg per kg.
- Copper and zinc supplied partly as glycine chelates, which Horslyx use for absorption.
- Selenium 5mg, manganese 800mg and iodine 6mg per kg.
- 650g hand-held tub, about three days for one horse.
- No artificial colours or preservatives.
Suitable For
- Horses and ponies on forage-based diets with no particular problem to solve.
- First-time buyers deciding whether a lick suits their horse.
- Rewards, distraction and stretching work.
- Travelling and short stays away from home.
- It has no joint, airway or hindgut ingredients — Horslyx Mobility, Respiratory or Pro Digest Balancer are the ones with those.
Feeding
- Horslyx give an expected intake of 250g a day for a 500kg horse, 200g for a 300kg pony and 300g for a 700kg horse.
- Horslyx put a 650g mini at roughly three days' supply for one horse.
- Offer it in its own tub rather than decanting it.
- Introduce it slowly and monitor the intake rate; Horslyx note that consumption usually falls once a horse has got used to having a lick available.
- Feed alongside forage and fresh water; the lick balances forage rather than replacing feed.
