Johnson's Triple Action Toothpaste – Chicken, 50g

This is Johnson's answer to the first step in that chain: a triple action paste that cleans teeth and gums and works against plaque and tartar, with parsley oil in it to deal with the breath while it does so.

The barcode on this tube, 5000476010393, is the chicken-flavoured version — Johnson's also make a beef one under code A043. Flavour matters more than it sounds with dental products, because the whole exercise depends on the animal tolerating a brush in its mouth twice a week rather than once a year.

How to Use

• Put a small amount on a pet toothbrush or finger brush.
• Work along the outer surfaces of the teeth and the gum line, where plaque builds up.
• Build up slowly with a new animal — a taste off the finger first, then the brush.
• Brush regularly. Occasional brushing does very little; a few times a week does a great deal.
