Julius-K9 IDC Powerharness – Pink, Size 4

This is Size 4 — chest 96–138cm, dog 70–90kg — in Julius-K9's standard pink rather than the darker shade they also sell in this size. The two are separate colours in the Julius-K9 range, so it is worth being clear which one you are ordering if you are matching an existing harness or a lead.

On a dog of this weight the harness is doing something a collar cannot. The saddle panel puts the lead's pull across the back and ribs, and the angled chest strap leaves the shoulders free to swing, which on a heavy, deep-chested breed is the difference between a walk and a wrestle.

Performance & Benefits
  • OEKO-TEX certified, antiallergenic lining against the dog's coat.
  • Saddle section takes the pull of the lead across the back rather than into the spine.
  • Chest strap is set at a deliberate angle so the shoulders stay free to swing.
  • High-visibility reflective stitching worked into the edging and chest strap.
  • Interchangeable hook-and-loop patches on both sides, readable from above and from the side.
  • Made in the EU from German textiles, on ISO 9001 certified production.
  • Chest strap adjusts across the full 96–138cm range, so one harness covers a lot of variation in build.
<>
Suitable For
  • Dogs with a chest of 96–138cm, around 70–90kg, measured behind the front legs.
  • Mastiffs, great danes, St Bernards, wolfhounds and other giant breeds.
  • Anyone replacing a worn Size 4 and wanting the standard pink rather than the dark pink.
  • Walking, handling and travel where a top handle is worth having.
  • Oversized for a 40–70kg dog, which needs Size 3; a harness bought a size up is a harness a dog can reverse out of.
<>
How to Use
  • Measure the chest circumference four fingers behind the front legs and pick on that, not on the dog's weight.
  • Undo the chest strap, place the saddle over the back, bring the strap under the chest and press it closed.
  • Check a flat hand slides under the strap and that the saddle stays central when the lead is pulled.
  • Fold the handle flat and secure it between uses so there is less to catch.
  • Side patches lift off and swap over on hook-and-loop.

Specification
  • Size 4: chest 96–138cm, dog weight 70–90kg — Julius-K9's own chart.
  • Colour pink. Julius-K9 also list dark pink as a separate colour in this size.
  • Top handle, fixed with a rubber flap and popper on sizes 0 to 4.
  • OEKO-TEX certified antiallergenic lining, German textiles, ISO 9001 certified EU production.
  • Julius-K9 state metal components are being phased out in favour of a strong plastic, so the lead ring may be either depending on production date.
<>
Care & Caution
  • Use the handle to hold a dog, never to lift one. At 70–90kg the handle is not a carrying point.
  • Julius-K9 make no crash-test claim for the IDC Powerharness, so do not use it as a car restraint. Fit something sold and tested for that.
  • Inspect the chest strap, saddle stitching and lead ring regularly and retire the harness if a seam has started to go.
  • Take it off indoors and in a crate; the handle and patch edges snag on wire, bedding and door furniture.
