The conditioning version of Pink Mash, for horses and ponies that struggle to hold weight — particularly through winter. It puts condition on without cereals or molasses, which is the difficult combination: most feeds that add weight do it with starch, and starch is exactly what a laminitic or PPID horse cannot have.

Protexin probiotics and prebiotics support a healthy hindgut and a diverse microbiome, which helps with the digestive complaints that often accompany a horse in poor condition — loose droppings, faecal water and hindgut acidosis. It soaks in 5 to 10 minutes, is highly palatable for horses with little appetite, and can be added to any diet without upsetting the mineral balance of the existing ration.

Feeding

• Soak for 5–10 minutes before feeding.
• Feed according to bodyweight and condition alongside plenty of forage.

Care & Caution

• Soak fresh for each feed. Live probiotics do not survive prolonged standing or heat, so never use boiling water.
