This is the net KM Elite built their reputation on: a 40" net with 2" holes, handcrafted from premium polypropylene yarn and hung on iron rings plated in high chrome. It holds roughly 6.5kg of hay and weighs 575g empty, against the 300–350g KM Elite give as typical for lighter nets.

That extra 200g-odd is all in the thickness of the yarn, and it is what stops the mesh stretching into wide, useless holes halfway through a season. Red is the easiest of the twelve colours to find in a dim stable or count across a yard at the end of a night check, which is most of the argument for choosing it over black.

How to Use

• Hang the net from a ring or tie post at wither height or above, using a quick-release knot tied to a loop of breakable baler twine.
• Fill from the top, gather the drawcord, pull it tight and knot it off so the mouth closes as the net empties.
• Take the slack up as the net empties, or re-tie it higher, so an empty net never hangs near the horse's legs.
• Rinse through with water and hang to dry after soaked hay or haylage.
• Take the net down before turnout rather than leaving it hanging in an empty stable.

Care & Caution

• A haynet is an entanglement risk. Tie it high enough that a shod hoof cannot reach the empty net, and always to a loop of breakable twine rather than direct to a fixed ring.
• Do not leave a slack or part-empty net hanging within reach of a horse that paws or rugs up.
• 2" holes are a mild restriction, not a true slow-feeder mesh — a determined horse will still clear this net quickly.
• Check the mesh and the rings for wear before each use and retire the net once strands have parted.
