KM Elite Padded Headcollar – Navy Blue, Small

Navy Blue is the colour that works everywhere: dark enough to stay presentable through a winter of mud, plain enough to take to a show without anyone looking twice. Small is KM Elite's Large Pony fitting, cut with a shorter nose and closer-set cheekpieces than the horse sizes.

It is built like the rest of the padded range — double- and triple-weave lined nylon webbing, padded headpiece, padded nosepiece, brass-colour clips and throat clip. Navy also happens to be the colour KM Elite carry across the widest run of fittings, so a growing pony can move up a size without changing colour.

How to Use

• Buckle on the near side, with the noseband sitting about two fingers below the cheekbone.
• Adjust so two flat fingers fit between the noseband and the nose — any tighter and the padding cannot spread the pressure.
• Clip the lead rope to the ring under the jaw, not to a side ring.
• Hand wash in warm water and air dry naturally. KM Elite say not to tumble dry.

Care & Caution

• This is a standard nylon headcollar, not a breakaway one. The webbing and fittings will not part under load, so do not leave it on a horse turned out unsupervised — a fixed headcollar catches on fences, gateposts and hind shoes.
• Tie to a loop of breakable baler twine with a quick-release knot, never directly to a ring, gate or post.
• Check the stitching, buckle tongues and clip springs before each use and retire the headcollar once the webbing frays.
