KM Elite Padded Headcollar – Raspberry, Medium (Cob)

This is the Medium in KM Elite's headcollar range, sold as their Cob fitting. It is made from double and triple weave lined nylon and finished with brass-colour clips and fittings, and the padding runs across the headpiece and around the nosepiece rather than being limited to the noseband alone.

Raspberry is the deeper of KM Elite's pinks — closer to a rich berry than to the Hot Pink in the same range — and holds its colour well against sun and washing. It is a good middle ground for anyone who wants pink tack without the glare of the hot shade.

How to Use

• Buckle on the near side, with the noseband sitting roughly two fingers below the cheekbone.
• Adjust so two fingers lie flat between the noseband and the nose — tighter than that and the padding cannot do its job.
• Clip the lead rope to the ring under the jaw rather than to a side ring.
• Hand wash in warm water and air dry naturally. Do not tumble dry.

Care & Caution

• This is a standard nylon headcollar, not a breakaway one. The webbing and fittings will not part under load, so do not leave it on a horse turned out unsupervised — a fixed headcollar can catch on a fence, a gatepost or a hind shoe.
• Tie to a loop of breakable baler twine rather than directly to a solid ring or post.
• Check the stitching, buckle tongues and clip springs before each use, and retire the headcollar once the webbing frays.
