KM Elite Poly Lead Rope – Black, 6ft

A 6ft poly lead rope with an extra-large brass snap, and the rope KM Elite point to when a cotton one keeps failing. They rate the poly at ten times the strength of an average cotton lead rope, and horses do not find it worth chewing.

Black is the rope that never looks wrong. On a hunting or showing yard it disappears against dark tack, it hides mud better than any other colour in the range, and it is the safe default when you are buying several ropes for horses whose colour coding has not been decided.

How to Use

• Clip the brass snap to the ring under the jaw of the headcollar, with the spring facing away from the horse.
• Lead from the near side with the slack folded across your palm — never coiled around your hand.
• Tie with a quick-release knot to a loop of breakable baler twine, never straight to a solid ring.
• Wipe with warm water and hang to dry; the poly sheds most mud without washing.

Care & Caution

• Poly this strong does not give way under load. Never tie a horse directly to a solid ring, post or trailer — always tie to a loop of breakable twine so something can part before the horse does.
• Never wrap the rope around your hand, wrist or waist. A horse that pulls back can burn or trap a hand in a coiled rope in an instant.
• Retire the rope if the core shows through the outer braid, or if the snap spring weakens or sticks.
