KM Elite Argentinian Dog Collar – Admiral, XS (40cm × 1.5cm)

This is the Admiral colourway of KM Elite's Argentinian collar, part of their Petworth Collection: honey leather with a navy-and-white polo-belt pattern woven into the band. The pattern comes straight from Argentinian polo belts, which is where equestrian leatherwork has borrowed it for the better part of a century.

XS measures 40cm long by 1.5cm wide, the smallest of four fittings and the narrow width rather than the 2.5cm one. A 1.5cm band is light enough not to weigh down a terrier or a small spaniel, and honey leather takes a patina rather than cracking the way a coated collar does.

How to Use

• Clean the leather with a leather cleaner — KM Elite recommend Renapur — and work it in rather than soaking it.
• If it gets wet, blot the moisture off with a dry towel and let it air dry away from direct heat.
• Do not machine wash and do not dry it on a radiator or in an airing cupboard.
• Feed the leather occasionally rather than waiting for it to go stiff; leather that has dried hard does not come back.
• Fit so two fingers slide flat under the band, and re-check the fit on a growing dog every few weeks.
