CuteSeas are made in corduroy rather than ordinary plush, and the ribbed nap is the reason to pick one: it gives a dog something to feel under the tongue, and it holds its shape better than flat fleece after a wash. KONG's own line is that they are made of soft corduroy for snuggling, with a squeaker and crinkle fabric for sounds during playtime.
