KONG Extreme – Large, Black

The Large Extreme is the size most labradors, collies and similar dogs end up on: 7 × 7 × 10cm, 191g, and recommended by KONG for dogs of about 30–65 lb (roughly 14–29kg). It is the same three-tier snowman shape as the red Classic, moulded in KONG's black rubber instead.

Black is the hardest of KONG's four rubber grades — Puppy, Classic red, Senior and Extreme — and it is the one to pick if a Classic has been chewed flat. Hollow through the middle, so it takes kibble, paste and a freeze, and unevenly weighted so it bounces off at an angle nobody can predict.

How to Use

• Pack kibble into the hollow, then cap the opening with paste to hold it in.
• Freeze the stuffed toy for four hours or more when you want it to last.
• Start easy — loosely filled, food falling out quickly — before you make it difficult.
• Wash in hot soapy water or on the top rack of a dishwasher, and dry it before refilling.
• Bounce it, do not throw it at the dog: the rebound is deliberately unpredictable.

Care & Caution

• KONG's own instruction: supervised use only, remove all packaging and packaging attachments, and discontinue use if damaged.
• KONG add that power chewers may need to size up one or two sizes. A toy small enough to sit behind the back teeth is a choking hazard.
• Check the rubber each time you fill it and replace the toy if you find a split or a bite-through.
