Lincoln Muddy Buddy Scrub – 500ml
Muddy Buddy Scrub is Lincoln's leg wash for the part of the year when horses come in with mud to the knee. It is a wash-in, rinse-off product for the lower limbs after turnout or work, and on most yards it lives in the grooming kit from October to April and then goes to the back of the shelf.
Lincoln is a Battles brand, and Battles' own website could not be reached while this page was written — their security certificate does not match their domain. Their published ingredient list, directions and product claims could not therefore be verified, and none of them are reproduced here. Follow the directions printed on the bottle.
<>Performance & Benefits
- A wash made for legs, rather than a body shampoo pressed into the job.
- 500ml bottle, a practical size for a grooming kit or a tack room shelf.
- Used after turnout or work in wet, muddy conditions.
- Part of Lincoln's Muddy Buddy range, which also runs to a powder and an ointment.
Suitable For
- Washing mud off the lower limbs after turnout or work.
- Routine use through a wet winter.
- Horses with heavy feather, where mud sits down in the hair and needs working out.
- Yards without hot water, where legs are washed cold and dried off afterwards.
- Not a treatment for a skin condition. A horse with sore, scabby or swollen legs needs a vet, not a wash.
How to Use
- Remove loose mud first, then wet the legs thoroughly.
- Work the scrub into the hair and down to the skin, then rinse it off completely.
- Dry the legs properly afterwards; leaving them wet undoes the point of washing them.
- Follow the directions printed on the bottle — the manufacturer's published directions could not be verified for this page.
Specification
- 500ml bottle.
- The manufacturer publishes an ingredient list on the pack. Their website was unreachable when this page was written, so no ingredients are stated here.
- No performance claims are reproduced here for the same reason. Claims appearing on retail listings have deliberately not been used.
- Part of the Lincoln Muddy Buddy range.
Care & Caution
- Keep it out of the eyes when washing around the coronet and heel, and rinse with clean water if any gets in.
- Not a veterinary treatment. If the skin is broken, scabbed or sore, stop washing and speak to a vet before putting anything else on it.
