Omega Equine Flax Oil – 1 Litre
Cold-pressed flax oil is about the simplest conditioning supplement there is: 99.90% oil, no additives, no processing beyond the press. Omega's is pressed from dried flax seed without heat, which is what preserves the omega-3 content that makes flax worth feeding over a cheaper vegetable oil.
The one-litre bottle is the trial size and the right one for a single horse or pony. At Omega's rate of 30ml to 90ml a day for a horse it lasts between 11 and 33 days; for a pony at 20ml to 60ml, between 17 and 50 days. Anyone feeding it long term will want the 5 litre.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Cold pressed, so the oil is not heat-damaged during extraction.
- Declared 99.90% crude fats and oils — effectively pure oil.
- Supplies omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids.
- Omega link it to cellular health, coat conditioning, joint mobility and circulation.
- Poured rather than mixed, so it is the easiest way to add oil to a feed.
- One litre, a manageable bottle to lift and pour one-handed.
Suitable For
- Horses and ponies needing coat shine and skin condition.
- Adding calories without starch or sugar.
- Trying flax oil before committing to a larger container.
- Single-horse owners, where a 5 litre would sit too long once opened.
- For a yard feeding several horses daily, the Omega Equine Flax Oil 5 Litre works out considerably cheaper per millilitre.
Feeding
- Horses: 30ml to 90ml daily.
- Ponies: 20ml to 60ml daily.
- At those rates this 1 litre bottle lasts roughly 11 to 33 days for a horse, or 17 to 50 days for a pony.
- Introduce gradually over a week or two — oil added too quickly can loosen droppings.
- Pour over the feed and mix through.
- Omega also supply flax oil in 5 litre and 25 litre.
