Patio Magic Concentrated Mould, Algae & Lichen Remover – 2.5L

Patio Magic is a benzalkonium chloride concentrate — 7.5% w/w — that kills the green film on paving rather than blasting it off. Diluted one part to four and watered or sprayed on, it does the work over the following days and the weather finishes the job.

The 2.5 litre bottle covers up to 85m² of hard surface once diluted, which is a good-sized yard or patio. There is no bleach and no acid in it, so it will not draw the colour out of block paving the way some patio cleaners do.

• It kills black mould but does not lift the staining that is left behind, so badly stained slabs will still want a wash down afterwards.

How to Use

• Dilute 1 part Patio Magic to 4 parts water for a normal infestation, or 1 to 9 where growth is light.
• Apply 1 litre of the diluted solution to every 3 to 7m² of surface, by watering can or sprayer.
• Apply to a dry surface only, and not if rain is expected within the next 5 to 6 hours.
• Then leave it. Green growth dies back over 2 to 4 days and keeps clearing over the following weeks.
• If any lands on a plant you want to keep, flush it at once with clean water.

Care & Caution

• Causes skin irritation and serious eye damage. Wear gloves and eye or face protection, and wash hands thoroughly afterwards.
• Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Keep it out of ponds, ditches and any drain running to a watercourse, and do not rinse equipment where the washings can reach water.
• Keep children and pets away from treated areas until the surface has dried — often 5 to 6 hours.
• Keep horses, dogs and other animals off treated hardstanding until it is completely dry.
• It kills green growth indiscriminately. Keep it off lawns and borders, and flush any accidental contact with clean water.
