The Premium Bucket is Red Gorilla's rigid trade bucket rather than one of their flexible tubs, and black is the version that hides plaster, tar, sump oil and yard dirt from the day it arrives. It is built stiff on purpose: a heavily ribbed wall that resists flexing when you carry it full.

Red Gorilla publish it as 15 litres, 27cm tall and 36cm across. The reinforced metal handle set into moulded lugs is the part worth paying for, because a moulded plastic handle is what fails first on a cheap bucket the moment you fill it and lift with one hand.

How to Use

• Fill to the ribbed line rather than the rim if you are carrying it any distance — 15 litres of water weighs close to 15kg.
• Lift by the metal handle with the grip centred, and support the base with your other hand when it is full.
• Rinse mortar, plaster or grout out before it goes off; a cured mix is far harder to release from ribbing than from a smooth wall.
• Store it upside down so it drains rather than collecting rainwater.
