RenaSan Equine Antiseptic Spray – 750ml
This is RenaSan's hypochlorous antiseptic in a bottle sized for yard use: hypochlorous acid at 0.15ml per litre in water and salt, pH neutral, alcohol free and non-stinging — which matters a great deal on a horse that will not stand still for something that bites.
RenaSan's own website lists the spray in 100ml, 250ml and 500ml, plus a 5L Antiseptic Solution for refilling. They publish no specification for a 750ml bottle, so the figures below are those of the spray formulation across the range rather than of this bottle size in particular.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Hypochlorous acid at 0.15ml/litre in water and salt. Three ingredients, nothing added.
- Non-stinging and pH neutral — usable on a horse that will not tolerate iodine or an alcohol-based product.
- No alcohol, no antibiotics and no preservatives.
- RenaSan state it kills 99.9999% of germs on contact, across bacteria, viruses and fungi.
- Safe for use near the eyes and mouth, according to RenaSan.
- Approved for type 3 veterinary use and compliant with the European Biocidal Products regulations.
Suitable For
- Horses and ponies: cuts, grazes, girth rubs and post-operative sites.
- Mixed yards — RenaSan set no species restriction, so the same bottle does the dogs and the cats.
- Sensitive or needle-shy horses that object to a stinging antiseptic.
- The tack room rather than the grooming box, given the bottle size.
- Not a mud fever treatment in itself — RenaSan make no such claim, and a persistent case needs a vet.
How to Use
- Spray liberally onto the affected area, or onto a clean dressing, twice daily.
- Store out of direct sunlight. It does not need refrigerating, even once opened.
- Do not decant into another container; hypochlorous acid is light sensitive and the bottle is made for it.
- A faint chlorine smell immediately after spraying is normal and passes quickly.
Specification
- Ingredients: hypochlorous acid 0.15ml/litre, water, salt.
- pH neutral. Alcohol free, antibiotic free and preservative free.
- Approved for type 3 veterinary use; compliant with the European Biocidal Products regulations.
- RenaSan's published spray sizes are 100ml, 250ml and 500ml, with a 5L Antiseptic Solution for refills. They list no 750ml bottle, so no specification for this size is stated here.
- RenaSan publish no shelf life for the spray, so none is given.
Care & Caution
- First aid, not treatment. RenaSan's own instruction is to contact your vet if the problem persists.
- An approved biocide, not a licensed veterinary medicine; it does not replace prescribed treatment for an infected wound.
- Deep or puncture wounds, anything near a joint, and anything that keeps bleeding need a vet the same day.
