The coarsest of Rosewood’s three Soft Protection combs — fine is 07500, medium 07501, coarse 07502. Wide tooth spacing lets it pass through a thick or long coat without dragging, which is exactly what you want from the first comb of a session.

How to Use

• Work in small sections, starting at the ends of the hair and moving up towards the skin.
• Hold the hair above a tangle so the comb pulls against your hand, not the dog’s skin.
• Move to a finer comb once the coarse teeth run through cleanly.
• Clear hair from the teeth as you go.
• Wash in warm soapy water and dry it before it goes back in the box.
