Rosewood Soft Protection Slicker Brush – Large
Fine angled wire pins set across a wide head. Rosewood’s claim for the slicker range is that it removes mats, tangles and loose hair, and reduces moulting with regular use — the reduction being in what ends up on the sofa rather than in what the dog sheds.
This is the large, code 07661; the range runs 07659, 07660 and 07661 from small through medium to large. The wide head is what you want on a big dog or a dense coat, where a small slicker turns a twenty-minute job into an hour.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Wide head covers a large dog in far fewer passes.
- Fine angled pins reach through the topcoat into the undercoat.
- Removes mats, tangles and loose hair, which is Rosewood’s stated purpose for the range.
- Regular use reduces the amount of shed coat left around the house.
- Ergonomic moulded hand grip for a long session.
Suitable For
- Larger dogs, and cats and dogs with dense or long coats.
- De-matting medium and long coats, the job Rosewood name for the slicker.
- Regular de-shedding through a moult.
- Owners grooming a big coat at home between appointments.
- Too broad for a toy breed or for close work on a face — the Rosewood Soft Protection Slicker Brush Small (07659) fits there.
How to Use
- Work in small sections, brushing in the direction the coat lies.
- Hold the brush lightly and let the pins do the work; pressing drags on the skin.
- Lift the pulled hair off the pins as they fill.
- Follow with a comb to confirm the section is genuinely clear.
- Wash the head occasionally in warm soapy water and let it dry fully.
