Horse & Pony Cooling Mix is a highly palatable, fully balanced low-energy mix for horses and ponies in light to medium work that need a controlled ration. It provides enough energy for the work being asked without encouraging fizzy or spooky temperaments, which makes it a dependable everyday feed for leisure horses and excitable types.

The mix is based on alfalfa, a super-fibre that supplies slow-release energy and helps maintain a calm, trainable temperament, along with a useful level of lysine to support muscle development and repair. Super-fibres and micronised cereals together give the optimum balance of energy for weight maintenance and work. A blend of natural herbs is included for respiratory, digestive and anti-inflammatory support.

Feeding

• Introduce gradually over 7–10 days.
• Feed according to bodyweight, workload and condition.
• Offer a chaff or forage meal 30 minutes before the concentrate feed.
• Dampen and mix well with chaff. Always allow free access to clean, fresh water.

Care & Caution

• Oat-free but not cereal-free — contains barley and maize, with starch at 20.5%.
• Despite being a cooling mix, the starch level makes it unsuitable for laminitis-prone horses.
